Academic Prerequisites
Marks
FA/FSc
Minimum 55% marks in FA/FSc and equivalent.
Marks
BA/ BSc/ BA/ BSc (Hons) and BBA/ BPA
Candidates who secure 60% marks or above in BA/ BSc/ BA/ BSc (Hons) and BBA/ BPA,
with 50% marks in FA/ FSc are eligible for Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course.
Serving Army Soldiers
50% marks or above in FA/FSc and equivalent.
Verification Mandatory
Candidates not issued with certificates or in possession of duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric/ Intermediate/ BA/ BSc must get a verification certificate signed by secretary/controller examination of concerned board/university.
A-Level Eligibility Criteria
'A' Levels (equivalence issued by Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC)) candidates with aggregate 55% marks are eligible.
However, all the candidates who have passed 'A' Levels and equivalent examination from abroad or have passed from Pakistan with the result less than three Cs are required to submit Equivalence Certificate issued by Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).
Hope Certificate
- Candidates who have been promoted in FSc Part-I and Advance Subsidiary Examination 2024 can also apply on 'HOPE Certificate of 55% marks' duly issued by Head of the Institution.
- FSc, A Levels and equivalaent final result card/marks sheet must be submitted within one week of announcement of board results otherwise candidates will not be considered in the final merit.
- Candidates who apply on Hope Certificate and obtain less than 55% marks in FSc and Grade A-C in A Levels will be declared ineligible
Following are ineligible
Rejection
Twice rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB).
Failure
Thrice Failure in Initial Tests (Intelligence/Acedemic) will be ineligible for future PMA Long Course.
Test Gap
Tested within four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance in Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) except waiver granted by the competent authority.
Conviction in Court
Convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offence (to be ascertained by the competent military authority).
Hepatitis B & C Patient
Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot be requested).
Drug Test
Candidates with Positive Drug Test from CMHs/ Military Hospitals/ AFIP will be considered as Permanent UNFIT for joining PMA/ Training Institutions and blacklisted.
Tampering of Certificates
Tampering of academic certificates/ forgery/ concealment to get undue advantage will render the applicant permanently ineligible for all types of commission in Armed Forces.
Permanently Unfit
Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (AMB).
Declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by Appeal Medical Board.
However, Pakistan Air Force candidates who become medically unfit for flying but fit for ground branches can undergo routine medical examination as normal candidates if they are desirous to join Pakistan Army.
Withdrawn/Discharged/Resigned
Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces Colleges (Cadet College Jehlum, Murree, Sui and Lower Topa)/ institution on disciplinary grounds.
Withdrawn/ Discharged/ Resigned or purchase of commission from any Armed Forces Officers Academy/ Training Institution on any grounds.
Dismissed/Removed/Debarred
Dismissed/Removed/Debarred from Government Service including Armed Forces.
NOTE
- ISSB selection system assesses natural officer potential.
- Coaching on ISSB Tests adversely affects the chances of selection and results in many contradictions in personality traits.
- In case it is found that a candidate trained in any private coaching center, he will be considered Ineligible to apply for all types of commissions
