AGE: 17-22 Years as on Sep 01, 2025

AGE Relaxation: Relaxable for three months for both upper and lower limits

Academic Prerequisites

Marks

FSC (Pre Engineering)

FSC (Pre Engineering) - with minimum 65% Marks and 'A' Levels passed in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Grade 1-6/A-C

Marks

Matric or Equivalent

Matric/ Senior Cambridge/ GCE “O Levels” (English being compulsory in five subjects for O Levels) both in science with minimum 60% Marks

For Engineering Programs

Candidates with FSc/equivalent qualification with combination of

  • Mathematics,
  • Physics 
  • Computer studies / Computer Science

can apply for all engineering programs

Hope Certificate

  • Candidates can also apply on 'HOPE Certificate of 65% Marks' duly issued by Head of the Institution.
  • FSc Final Result Card/Mark sheet must be submitted within one week of announcement Board Results,otherwise candidates will not be considered in the final merit.
  • Those candidates who have obtained less than 65% marks in FSc and less than Grade A-C in 'A Levels' will be declared ineligible for selection course

    Following are ineligible

    Q

    Failure

    Thrice failure in initial test (intelligence/ academic).

    Test Gap

    Tested within 4 x months (120 days) gap of previous appearance in ISSB except waiver granted by the competent authority.

    Dismissed/Removed/Debarred

    Dismissed/removed/debarred from Government Service including Armed Forces.

    Conviction in Court

    Convicted in a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude or any heinous offence (to be ascertained by the competent military authority).

    Hepatitis B & C Patient

    Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (cannot request for AMB).

    Drug Test

    Candidates declared with Positive Drug Test from CMHs/ Military Hospitals/ AFIP will be considered as Permanent UNFIT for joining Training Institutions/ Pakistan Military Academy.

    Tampering of Certificates

    Tempering of academic certificates/ forgery/ concealment to get undue advantage will render an applicant permanently ineligible for all types of commission in Armed Forces.

    Permanently Unfit

    Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (AMB).

    However, PAF candidates who become medically unfit for flying but fit for ground branches, can undergo routine medical examination as normal candidates, if they are desirous to join Pakistan Army.

    Withdrawn

    Withdrawn from any Academy/ Training institution of Armed Forces on any ground.

    Withdrawn from any Bonded Armed Forces College/ Institution on disciplinary grounds. 

    Rejection

    A candidate is ineligible if he is twice rejected by Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB), General Headquarters/ Naval Headquarters/ Air Headquarters Selection Board or once rejected by (ISSB) and once rejected General Headquarters/ Naval Headquarters/ Air Headquarters Selection Boards.

    Cadets & Defence Quota

    Those studying in any of the Armed Forces Institutions/ Academies or nominated against reserve defence quota seats

    OR

    studying as Paying Cadets in any of the Armed Forces Technical Colleges.

    NOTE

    1. ISSB Selection System assesses natural officer potential. Coaching on ISSB Tests adversely affects the chances of selection and results in many contradictions in personality traits.
    2. In case, it is found that any candidate trained in any private coaching center, he will be considered as ineligible to apply for all types of commissions
