Islamabad — The Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Wang Yi, during his official visit to Pakistan, held an important meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at General Headquarters, Islamabad.
Focus on Security and Counter-Terrorism
The discussions focused on regional security, enhanced counter-terrorism cooperation, and a wide range of shared strategic interests. Both sides reaffirmed their firm resolve to further strengthen the Pakistan–China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, particularly in light of evolving regional developments.
China’s Strong Commitment
Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, security, and socio-economic advancement. He emphasized that Beijing will continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Islamabad, highlighting the iron-clad friendship that has endured for decades and continues to expand.

Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese leadership and people for their consistent support in strategic, defense, and developmental fields. He underscored that the Pakistan Army remains firmly committed to safeguarding national sovereignty and strengthening coordination with China to ensure peace and stability across the region.
Shared Vision for Peace and Prosperity
Both sides agreed to intensify collaboration at regional and international forums, reaffirming their shared commitment to countering terrorism, promoting regional connectivity, and advancing socio-economic cooperation under the framework of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the broader Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The meeting concluded with a strong reaffirmation that Pakistan and China, as “iron brothers,” will continue to stand united against emerging challenges and work together for a secure, stable, and prosperous future for their peoples and the wider region.
