Pakistan, Tajikistan Wrap Up Joint Counter-Terrorism Drill ‘Dosti-II’

ISLAMABAD, August 9, 2025 — Pakistan and Tajikistan concluded their six-day joint counter-terrorism exercise Dosti-II at Fakhrobod Base, Tajikistan, marking another milestone in bilateral defense cooperation.

The exercise, running from August 4 to 9, brought together Pakistan Army’s Light Commando Battalion and Tajikistan’s Special Forces to refine drills, techniques, and operational coordination in counter-terrorism scenarios.

Two Pakistani combat teams and four Tajik teams participated in intensive training modules focused on joint maneuvers, interoperability, and tactical synchronization.

At the closing ceremony, Colonel Muhammad Muazzam Zafar, Pakistan’s Defence Attaché in Tajikistan, praised the troops’ professionalism and emphasized the exercise’s role in strengthening regional counter-terrorism capabilities.

Military officials from both nations hailed the success of Dosti-II, underscoring shared resolve to combat terrorism and bolster regional stability.
