Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Stresses Cooperation, Balanced Global Order at ‘Islamabad Symposium 2025’

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), attended and addressed the closing ceremony of the ‘Islamabad Symposium 2025’ organized by the National Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS) at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), serving as the Chief Guest.

Addressing a distinguished audience comprising members of the academia, bureaucrats, foreign ambassadors, business community representatives, students, and university faculty, the Chairman JCSC expressed gratitude to all speakers and panelists for their valuable insights. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza highlighted the rapidly evolving global and regional environment, reaffirming Pakistan’s active role in promoting regional peace and stability.

He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to balancing the relationship between the Global North and Global South through dialogue, dignity, and principled diplomacy. Emphasizing a critical need to replace confrontation with cooperation, the CJCSC noted that Pakistan’s foreign policy remains guided by a vision of coexistence rooted in mutual respect and international law.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza reiterated Pakistan’s consistent support for the just and peaceful resolution of all disputes, specifically mentioning the issues of Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir.

He characterized Pakistan as standing at the crossroads of regions and civilizations, committed to upholding restraint and constructive engagement. The Chairman JCSC concluded his remarks by stating Pakistan’s aspiration to bridge divides and foster a balanced global order built on justice, equity, and mutual respect.
