Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim, Minister of Defence of Tajikistan, paid a courtesy call on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The bilateral talks focused on mutual interests, regional security dynamics, and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan. Both leaders underscored the need to deepen military-to-military collaboration, with special emphasis on joint training programs, counter-terrorism initiatives, and regional stability mechanisms.
The Tajik Defence Minister lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and its pivotal contributions to peace and stability in South and Central Asia. In response, the COAS highlighted the imperative of collective security efforts for enduring regional prosperity and reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to bolstering defence ties with Tajikistan.
This high-level engagement marks a significant step forward in Pakistan-Tajikistan military relations, fostering enhanced counter-terrorism cooperation and strategic alignment amid evolving regional challenges.
