Pakistan’s Security Forces successfully conducted two separate, intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on December 5, 2025, effectively eliminating nine Khwarij terrorists suspected of having links to Indian proxy groups.

Successful Operations in Tank and Lakki Marwat

Tank District Operation: Following reports of the presence of Khwarij, Security Forces launched an IBO in Tank District. During the intense fire exchange, own troops effectively engaged the terrorist location, successfully neutralizing seven Khwarij.

Lakki Marwat District Operation: Another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat District. In the ensuing fire exchange, Security Forces effectively neutralized two additional Khwarij terrorists.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed foreign-sponsored Khwarij, who were confirmed to have been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, including attacks against Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, and the target killing of innocent civilians.

Commitment to ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’

Sanitization operations are currently being conducted to eliminate any other foreign-sponsored terrorist elements found in the area.

This action is part of the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (Resolve for Stability), as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan remain committed to continuing this campaign at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
