Pakistan Navy to Conduct Live Missile and Gunnery Firing in North Arabian Sea

by | Feb 21, 2026

The Pakistan Navy has issued a maritime alert announcing live missile and gunnery firing practices in the North Arabian Sea. The exercises are scheduled to take place on February 24 and 25, 2026, within a designated operational window from 03:00Z to 13:00Z daily.

The drills are part of a routine series of exercises designed to validate the Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and combat preparedness. This specific training follows a high-intensity period for the fleet, which recently showcased advanced air defense capabilities, including the successful interception of aerial targets using the LY-80(N) Surface-to-Air Missile system and precision strikes via loitering munitions.

In accordance with international maritime safety standards, a formal navigational warning (NAVAREA IX 071/26) has been promulgated to ensure the safety of ships and mariners in the region.

Safety Notice to Mariners

All merchant vessels, fishing boats, and other maritime traffic are strictly advised to steer clear of the designated firing zones during the active windows. The Pakistan Navy’s Hydrographic Department and the NAVAREA IX Coordinator have updated all relevant charts to reflect the temporary exclusion zones.
