In a major victory against foreign-sponsored terrorism, Pakistan’s Security Forces successfully neutralized a high-threat “tashkeel” of Fitna al-Khwarij in Pishin District, Balochistan. The intelligence-based operation (IBO), conducted on February 22, resulted in the elimination of five terrorists, including a suicide bomber who was intercepted before reaching his intended target.

The Operation: Neutralizing the Threat

Acting on credible reports of a planned terrorist incursion, troops moved to cordoned off a high-value hideout in the Pishin outskirts.

  • Effective Engagement: As the forces closed in, the entire terrorist group was engaged with multiple weapons systems.

  • The Interception: During the intense exchange of fire, a suicide bomber attempted to breach the security perimeter but was effectively pinned down. In a final act of cowardice, the bomber detonated his vest, failing to inflict any casualties on the troops.

  • Elimination of the Group: Four additional “Indian-sponsored” Khwarij were hunted down and sent to hell in the ensuing fire exchange.

  • Recoveries: A substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and sophisticated explosives was recovered from the site. Preliminary investigations reveal the group was actively plotting a major strike on urban centers in Balochistan.

The Wider Campaign: Vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”

This success is part of the broader “Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1” and the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.

  • National Resolve: Approved by the Federal Apex Committee, this vision combines kinetic military action with socioeconomic measures to wipe out foreign-sponsored proxies.

  • Sanitization Ongoing: Specialized units are currently conducting sanitization operations in the surrounding hills to ensure no remnants of the terrorist network remain in the area.

Strategic Context: Dismantling the Proxy Network

Security experts highlight that the neutralization of this specific cell in Pishin—a critical junction in northern Balochistan—significantly degrades the operational capacity of Fitna al-Khwarij and its external handlers. The military leadership has reiterated that such “intelligence-led surgical strikes” are the cornerstone of the current phase of the National Action Plan to guarantee the safety of the Pakistani people.
