In a precise execution of the national counterterrorism vision, Pakistan’s security forces successfully neutralized five high-value terrorists in the Lakki Marwat district on Sunday, March 15. The operation, conducted under the banner of “Azm-e-Istehkam” (Resolve for Stability), targeted a cell belonging to the Indian proxy group, Fitna-al-Khawarij.
The successful raid follows a string of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa designed to dismantle the logistical and command networks of foreign-sponsored militant groups.

Operational Details
Security forces launched the operation following confirmed reports regarding the presence of militants in a specific location within the district.

Intense Engagement: Upon being cornered, the “Khwarij” opened fire on the security personnel. In the ensuing fierce gun battle, all five terrorists were successfully sent to hell.

Seizure of Assets: A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site. Preliminary investigations indicate these terrorists were actively involved in target killings, IED attacks, and extortion in the southern districts of the province.
Strategic Vision: Azm-e-Istehkam
The operation was carried out in accordance with the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign, which was recently re-energized by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

Eliminating Foreign Proxies: The military reiterated that the “relentless” campaign will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism, specifically targeting groups it identifies as proxies for external intelligence agencies.

Sanitization: A comprehensive sanitization operation is currently underway in the surrounding areas of Lakki Marwat to eliminate any remaining sleeper cells or facilitators.
