Islamabad – November 26, 2025 – Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on Tuesday visited Air Headquarters for a farewell call, where he was accorded full military honours by the Pakistan Air Force.
Upon arrival, a smartly turned-out PAF contingent presented a Guard of Honour to the outgoing CJCSC, who is completing his tenure as the country’s senior-most uniformed officer.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu warmly received General Sahir and praised his “exemplary services and pivotal role in strengthening tri-services synergy”. He highlighted the CJCSC’s contributions to national defence and reaffirmed PAF’s firm commitment to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Army and Navy in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza expressed deep satisfaction with the Pakistan Air Force’s combat readiness and its ongoing modernisation drive. “I laud the professionalism and dedication of PAF personnel in safeguarding Pakistan’s aerial frontiers,” he said, adding that the Air Force has played a vital role in the national counter-terrorism effort.
The CJCSC also appreciated the “seamless coordination among the tri-services” and voiced confidence that this unity would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
The visit marks another dignified farewell gesture as General Sahir Shamshad Mirza concludes a distinguished career marked by enhanced jointness among Pakistan’s armed forces.
