The Federal Government has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi for a period of six months under Article 245 of the Constitution.
According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, the decision follows a formal requisition submitted by the Home Department, Government of Punjab.
Under the order, three companies of the Pakistan Army are authorized for deployment to perform sensitive security duties across the district.
The deployment aims to reinforce local security arrangements and maintain public order in sensitive areas of Rawalpindi.
