AMMAN — Jordan’s King Abdullah II on Monday commended the Pakistan Army for its professionalism and contributions toward regional peace and stability during a meeting with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The meeting, held during the army chief’s official visit to Jordan, was also attended by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in defence and security, as well as exchanging views on regional developments, the ISPR said.

“His Majesty appreciated the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces towards regional peace and stability and expressed his desire to further enhance defence collaboration between the two brotherly countries,” the military’s media wing noted.

During the audience, Field Marshal Munir conveyed greetings and well wishes from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan. He reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to deepening its longstanding fraternal ties with the Hashemite Kingdom.

As part of his visit, the COAS also met Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, at the General Headquarters in Amman. Munir was presented with a guard of honour upon his arrival.

The ISPR said both sides reiterated their shared commitment to strengthening defence cooperation and recognised the “deep-rooted and historic” relationship between the armed forces of Pakistan and Jordan. Major General Al-Huneiti also acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to peace and regional security.

The visits come amid a broader diplomatic outreach aimed at reinforcing Pakistan’s defence partnerships and regional engagement in the Middle East.
