In a candid briefing with senior journalists today, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif revealed that the Pakistan Armed Forces have successfully dismantled a dangerous terror nexus linking the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—derisively termed “Khawarij” by Pakistani authorities—and the Afghan Taliban.

The operation, described as a “decisive blow” against cross-border militancy, targeted key infrastructure and networks used to orchestrate attacks on Pakistani soil. Lieutenant General Sharif emphasized the Forces’ unwavering commitment to eradicating extremism, stating, “Our brave troops have struck at the heart of this unholy alliance, disrupting their ability to plan and execute violence against innocent Pakistanis.”
Footage and detailed evidence from the strikes were withheld from public release, a measured decision aimed at de-escalating tensions along the Pak-Afghan border. “We possess irrefutable proof of the nexus’s operations, but releasing it now could inflame further provocations,” the DG ISPR noted. “Pakistan seeks peace and stability, not escalation. Our focus remains on protecting our sovereignty while extending a hand for constructive dialogue with Afghanistan.”
This revelation comes amid heightened regional security concerns, including recent spikes in cross-border incursions. The Armed Forces’ intelligence-driven approach underscores ongoing efforts under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, which continues to uproot militant financing, safe havens, and ideological propaganda.
Lieutenant General Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to regional peace, urging Afghan authorities to address shared threats collaboratively. “Terror knows no borders, and neither should our resolve to combat it,” he added.
