The Government of Pakistan has noted with grave concern a series of highly provocative and jingoistic statements originating from the highest echelons of the Indian security establishment, including its Defence Minister, Army Chief, and Air Chief. These irresponsible declarations are viewed as a renewed and dangerous attempt to fabricate arbitrary pretexts for aggression, posing a severe threat to the peace and stability of South Asia.
Discredited Narrative and Regional Instability
Pakistan emphasized that the long-standing Indian narrative, built on a discredited policy of victimhood and painting Pakistan in a negative light, has been comprehensively debunked. It was asserted that the global community increasingly recognizes India as the true face of cross-border terrorism and the epicenter of regional instability.
The statements, which suggest a thirst for confrontation, are alarming given the recent history of aggression. Earlier this year, Indian military adventurism against Pakistan brought two nuclear-armed states to the brink of a major war. The government cautioned that India appears to be suffering from “collective amnesia,” seemingly having forgotten the consequences of that conflict, including the wreckage of its fighter jets and the swift response delivered by Pakistan’s advanced capabilities.
The New Normal of Decisive Response
In the face of these unwarranted threats, Pakistan issued a clear caution that a future conflict holds the potential for cataclysmic devastation. Any attempt to trigger fresh hostilities will be met with an immediate and resolute response, executed without any qualms or restraint.
The security establishment stressed that those “seeking to establish a new normal” for hostility must acknowledge that Pakistan has already established a new normal of response—one that is swift, decisive, and destructive.
“The people and the Armed Forces of Pakistan possess the capability and the resolve to take the fight to every nook and corner of the enemy’s territory. This time, we shall shatter the myth of geographic immunity, hitting the farthest reaches of the aggressor’s jurisdiction.”
Mutual Consequences of Escalation
Addressing the rhetoric suggesting the ‘erasure of Pakistan’ from the map, the government asserted that such aggressive talk is reckless and dangerous. Pakistan warned that should the situation escalate to that point, the concept of erasure will be mutual, underscoring the irreversible and devastating nature of a conflict between nuclear neighbors.
The Government of Pakistan calls upon the international community to take serious note of these inflammatory statements, which gravely endanger regional security and push the subcontinent toward a needless confrontation.
