In a decisive intelligence-based operation (IBO) on November 24, 2025, Pakistani security forces eliminated 22 militants affiliated with the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al-Khwarij (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, TTP) in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed Tuesday.
Acting on credible intelligence reports of militant presence in the Narmi Khel area—linked to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction of TTP—troops swiftly cordoned a key compound housing 23–25 terrorists, including 13 suicide bombers, many of Afghan nationality. The ensuing intense firefight resulted in all 22 militants being neutralized, with weapons, ammunition, and explosives recovered from the site.
No casualties were reported among security personnel. A thorough sanitization operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats in the vicinity.

President Asif Ali Zardari commended the forces for their “timely and effective response,” praising their role in thwarting the attackers’ malicious designs. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi echoed the sentiment, saluting the military’s commitment to eradicating “Fitna al-Hindustan” and assuring that, with national support, Pakistan will not allow terrorists or their facilitators any sanctuary.
This operation is part of the relentless national Counter Terrorism campaign under Vision Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain steadfast in wiping out foreign-sponsored terrorism nationwide.
Since January 2025, over 1,200 terrorists have been eliminated across Pakistan, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recording 600+ incidents claiming 138 civilian and 79 police lives in the first eight months alone. Recent successes include the neutralization of 17 militants (including three commanders) in Bannu and Lakki Marwat last week, and 23 in Kurram on November 19.
Pakistan reaffirms its resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its people from the scourge of terrorism.
