Five security personnel, including an officer, were martyred in a terrorist attack in the Mand area of Balochistan’s Kech district on Monday. The brave sons of the soil embraced martyrdom while serving the nation near the Pak-Iran border.
According to official sources, the attack was carried out by militants who had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) to target a security forces’ vehicle moving between tehsil Dashat and Mand. The device was detonated remotely, causing a powerful explosion that resulted in the martyrdom of all five personnel on board.
The martyred personnel have been identified as Captain Waqir Kakar, Naik Junaid, Naik Asmat, Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, and Sepoy Zahoor Ahmed. Following the incident, security forces immediately cordoned off the area and shifted the bodies to a nearby health facility.
The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the IED attack.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti paid tribute to the martyrs, stating on X, “Another brave son of Balochistan, Captain Waqir Kakar, embraced martyrdom while defending the people and his beloved Pakistan. His sacrifice will forever remain a shining chapter of courage and honour. Balochistan and Pakistan will never forget you.”
