Eliminate 13 Indian-Sponsored Terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan

Rawalpindi, September 24, 2025 – Security Forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan District, targeting the presence of terrorists linked with Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij.

Operation Details

  • During the engagement, 13 Indian-sponsored khawarij were killed on the spot.
  • A cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists.
  • The eliminated group had been actively involved in:
    • Facilitating the December 2023 Daraban suicide bombing,
    • Abduction and target killing of government officials,
    • Attacks on innocent civilians.

Following the action, a sanitisation operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining terrorist presence. The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to wiping out Indian-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.

National Leadership Commends Forces

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the Security Forces, noting that their sacrifices ensure every citizen’s safety.

  • He said the struggle against terrorism guarantees Pakistan’s peaceful future and stressed that the nation stands firmly with its martyrs and ghazis.
  • “Every sacrifice to establish the writ of the state will be written in golden words in history,” the President said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also hailed the operation, emphasizing that the perpetrators of the Daraban suicide attack had been brought to justice.

  • He praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and Security Forces, expressing confidence in their ability to root out terrorism.
  • The PM reaffirmed that all state institutions remain fully mobilized to eliminate terrorism in its entirety.

Context

This operation follows another IBO in Kulachi, D.I. Khan, on 21 September 2025, where Security Forces eliminated seven terrorists, including three Afghan nationals and two suicide bombers.

Pakistan has consistently highlighted India’s role in sponsoring terrorism through groups such as Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan, destabilizing KP and Balochistan. The Armed Forces maintain that such attempts will be crushed with full force.
