Security Forces Neutralize Five Terrorists in Bajaur; Major Adeel Zaman Embraces Shahadat

Security Forces conducted a successful Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the general area of Khar, Bajaur District, targeting the presence of Khwarij belonging to the Indian-sponsored “Fitna al Khwarij.”

The Operation

During the high-stakes engagement on December 29, 2025, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of five Indian-sponsored Khwarij. These individuals were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against Security Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and the killing of innocent civilians. A significant cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site.

In the ensuing intense fire exchange, Major Adeel Zaman (Age: 36, resident of Dera Ismail Khan), a brave officer leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and rendered the ultimate sacrifice, embracing Shahadat.

Funeral Honors and National Resolve

The funeral prayer of Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed was offered today at the Peshawar Garrison with full military honors. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF, attended the ceremony alongside the Minister of Interior, Commander Peshawar Corps, and a large number of military and civil officers.

The Field Marshal paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Major Adeel Zaman, stating:

“The martyrs of the Pakistan Army are the pride of the nation. Their sacrifices will forever be remembered and serve as a testament to our unbreakable resolve. We pray for the elevation of the Shaheed’s ranks and for the strength of his bereaved family.”

Major Adeel Zaman Shaheed will be laid to rest in his native town of Dera Ismail Khan with complete military honors.

COAS Visits Injured Personnel

Following the funeral, the Field Marshal visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar. He inquired after the health of the officers and soldiers injured during the Bajaur operation, lauding their courage and steadfastness in the face of foreign-supported terrorism.

The Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to the relentless Counter-Terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee. Sanitization operations continue in the area to eliminate any remaining remnants of foreign-sponsored elements, ensuring the complete eradication of terrorism from Pakistani soil.
