On January 25, 2026, Pakistan’s security forces eliminated three terrorists during a high-stakes intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Panjgur district of Balochistan. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants belonged to Fitna al Hindustan, a state-designated label for groups allegedly operating as proxies for foreign interests. The dead included a high-profile local commander identified as Farooq, alias Soro, along with two other militants, Adeel and Waseem.

The operation was launched following precise intelligence reports about the presence of a terror cell planning attacks on security personnel and infrastructure. After an intense exchange of fire, the hideout was cleared, and a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. The ISPR stated that these individuals were actively involved in several recent targeted killings and IED blasts in the region. Sanitization efforts are currently underway to ensure no other members of the network remain in the surrounding mountainous areas.
This action is part of the broader “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, a federal counter-terrorism campaign aimed at wiping out militancy across the country. Military officials reiterated that the surge in intelligence-driven strikes reflects a zero-tolerance policy toward foreign-sponsored destabilization. As the security landscape remains tense, the government has vowed to maintain a round-the-clock alert to protect civilians and state assets in Balochistan.
