Operations in Orakzai District
Following intense snowfall that paralyzed movement across the district, Pakistan Army rescue teams were deployed on an emergency basis. Utilizing specialized equipment, troops are working around the clock to clear critical road arteries, ensuring the smooth flow of essential supplies and medical access for the local community.
Operations in Kurram District
In Kurram District, which has been severely affected by the recent cold wave, Pakistan Army engineering wings swiftly launched a restoration operation. Key highlights include:
- Road Restoration: Heavy machinery was employed to clear and restore an eight-kilometer stretch of road that had been rendered impassable.
- Emergency Rescue: The Manato-Sadda road, a vital link, was completely blocked by heavy snow, stranding numerous commuters and vehicles.
- Evacuation: Army teams conducted a prompt rescue operation, safely evacuating stranded passengers—including women and children—and moving vehicles to secure locations.
The Pakistan Army remains committed to assisting the civil administration and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during these testing weather conditions. Relief efforts will continue until all major supply routes are fully restored and the safety of the local population is ensured.
