WANA — March 5, 2026 — Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chiefs of Defence Forces (CDF), visited Wana, South Waziristan, to personally review the operational preparedness of troops engaged in high-intensity skirmishes along the Western border. The visit comes at a decisive moment in Operation Ghazab-lil-Haqq, as Pakistani forces continue to dismantle terrorist infrastructure across the Durand Line.

Honoring the Fallen and Reviewing the Front
Upon his arrival, where he was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar, the Field Marshal laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument. Paying tribute to the martyrs, he reaffirmed that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s fallen heroes remain the “cornerstone of the nation’s security and resilience.”

Interacting with front-line officers and troops, Field Marshal Munir lauded their “unwavering professionalism” and high morale. He issued a clear and uncompromising message to the interim Afghan government, emphasizing that the use of Afghan soil by Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan is “entirely unacceptable.”
“Peace can only prevail if the Afghan Taliban renounces their support for terrorism and terrorist organizations,” the Field Marshal stated, reiterating that Pakistan will take all necessary measures to neutralize threats emanating from across the border.
Synergy and Combat Readiness
Expressing full confidence in the combat readiness and synergy of the formations, the Field Marshal highlighted that the Pakistan Army stands ready to respond to any unprovoked aggression with decisive force.
