Indian-Backed Terrorists Targeting Innocent Children and Civilians, Says DG ISPR
ISLAMABAD: In a critical press conference held on May 23, 2025, Director General ISPR Maj Gen Ahmed Sharif laid bare the disturbing extent of Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan. The briefing came days after a horrific IED attack on a school bus in Khuzdar that killed six children and injured 31 others.
“This wasn’t just an attack on a bus. It was an attack on our values, our children, our education, and the very fabric of our society,” stated DG ISPR solemnly.
India’s Terror Playbook Mirrors 1971: Proxy War Through “Fitna al Hindustan”
The DG ISPR said the Khuzdar attack was part of a broader campaign executed by the Indian intelligence agency RAW using its proxy group Fitna al Hindustan. “This is the same playbook they used in 1971. But Pakistan will not allow this conspiracy to succeed again,” he asserted.
He presented a timeline of Indian-backed attacks targeting not just military but also soft civilian targets—especially poor laborers, barbers, and now schoolchildren. From April 2024 to May 2025, over a dozen such attacks have taken place, including brutal killings of sleeping workers and roadside bombings of civilian vehicles.
Irrefutable Evidence of Indian Military Involvement
DG ISPR showcased direct, actionable evidence, including intercepted conversations and transactions between Indian military handlers and Pakistani-based terrorists. In one audio clip, a serving Indian Army Major openly admits to coordinating terror attacks “from Balochistan to Lahore.”
Another intercepted communication explained how funds were broken into smaller transactions to avoid detection by Pakistani intelligence. “This is not just terrorism; this is a military operation prosecuted by the Indian Army under state instructions,” emphasized the spokesperson.
India’s Media, Social Media, and Proxy Arm Aligned in Terror Campaign
The briefing also included a damning exposé of India’s information warfare. According to DG ISPR, Indian state-run and affiliate social media accounts often preemptively tweet about attacks that haven’t happened yet — only to celebrate them once carried out.
“These narratives are crafted, timed, and launched by Indian social media, amplified by Indian TV, and supported by retired generals and analysts,” he said. Indian media even celebrated the Khuzdar attack as a “successful hit,” revealing the shocking moral bankruptcy of its strategic doctrine.
Social and Economic Development of Balochistan Under Attack
The press briefing reiterated that these attacks are not random. “They target school buses, laborers, and public places because India wants to crush Balochistan’s progress,” DG ISPR said.
He detailed the ongoing development: the operationalization of Reko Diq, the rise of Gwadar Port and Airport, the launch of 73,000+ scholarships for Baloch students, and the rehabilitation of thousands of hectares of land.
“India knows that an empowered Balochistan will reject its narrative. That’s why they want to disrupt it,” he said.
Pakistani Nation, Forces United Against Terror
Despite these brutal tactics, DG ISPR praised the resilience of Pakistani citizens and the unity of state institutions. “From border security fencing to intelligence-based operations, our counter-terrorism network is active and highly effective.”
He shared that over 93,000 operations have been conducted in the last year alone, including over 52,000 in Balochistan. In the first five months of 2025, 203 terrorists have been neutralized in Balochistan — a major surge compared to the previous year.
Exposing Proxies Like BYC and Mahrang Baloch
DG ISPR did not hold back in addressing local proxy fronts. “Organizations like BYC and individuals like Mahrang Baloch present themselves as human rights defenders, but their silence on the murder of innocent children reveals their real alignment,” he stated.
He added that many so-called “missing persons” being glorified by these groups were later confirmed via DNA as killed terrorists in major attacks like the Jaffar Express bombing.
Afghanistan Must Not Serve as a Launchpad for Indian Operations
Responding to a question, DG ISPR acknowledged the use of Afghan soil by India for launching attacks inside Pakistan. He urged the Afghan government to “act like a normal state” and stop harboring Indian-funded terror outfits.
“We treat Afghan citizens with dignity and respect. But we will not allow anyone to use that goodwill against us,” he warned.
Pakistan’s Response: Rational, Resilient, and Relentless
DG ISPR emphasized that Pakistan continues to respond rationally and responsibly. “We are not attacking religious places or civilians in retaliation. We are exposing the real face of Indian terrorism — with facts and international outreach,” he concluded.
