Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate Terrorists in Barkhan District Operation

In a major blow to foreign-sponsored militancy, Pakistan Security Forces eliminated 13 terrorists—identified as members of the India-proxy “Fitna Al Khwarij”—during two high-intensity intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operations are part of the ongoing, relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the national vision “Azm-e-Istehkam.”

Operation Detail: The Bara Engagement

Following precise intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the Bara area of Khyber District, security forces launched a swift kinetic strike.

  • The Firefight: Upon contact, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the terrorist hideout. In the ensuing intense exchange of fire, 10 khwarij were killed.

  • Strategic Impact: The neutralization of this large cell in the strategic Khyber District disrupts a key transit and operational node for foreign-supported elements attempting to destabilize the border regions.

Operation Detail: The Bannu Neutralization

Simultaneously, a separate intelligence-led operation was executed in Bannu District, a region that has seen increased activity from “Fitna Al Khwarij” in recent months.

  • The Outcome: Security forces successfully engaged and neutralized three additional khwarij during the gunbattle.

  • Sanitization: Following both engagements, sanitization operations are currently underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorists or facilitators in the surrounding areas.

“Azm-e-Istehkam”: A National Mandate

These operations reflect the unified resolve of the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP).

  • The Vision: Under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” (Resolve for Stability) framework, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have been empowered to conduct proactive, intelligence-driven missions to wipe out the menace of terrorism.

  • Foreign Sponsorship: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) underscored that these groups operate as proxies for external interests, specifically naming the Indian-sponsored nature of these outfits aimed at sabotaging Pakistan’s internal security.

The success of these IBOs reinforces Pakistan’s stance as a stabilizing force in a volatile regional environment.

  • The Shield: While the country navigates the broader geopolitical pressures of the US-Israel-Iran war, the Armed Forces remain vigilant on the home front to prevent any spillover of extremism.
