Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf has highlighted the importance of building a strong, modern, and technologically advanced navy to protect the country’s sea lanes and maritime interests.

Speaking at the induction ceremony of the second PN MILGEM Class Corvette, PNS KHAIBAR, in Karachi, the CNS said Pakistan is steadily enhancing its naval capabilities to meet emerging challenges in the region.

Admiral Ashraf recalled the recent conflict with India, known as Marka-e-Haq, where the Pakistan Navy was fully prepared to target and sink an Indian aircraft carrier. He claimed this strong posture forced the Indian Navy to stay back in safer areas instead of venturing out.

The Navy Chief stressed that the induction of state-of-the-art platforms and advanced technologies has significantly boosted the Pakistan Navy’s ability to strike critical infrastructure and naval assets of any adversary if needed.

He particularly mentioned that PNS KHAIBAR, along with the upcoming HANGOR Class Submarines, will further increase the Navy’s combat power, reach, and overall deterrence.

The addition of PNS KHAIBAR is seen as another important step in modernising the fleet and strengthening Pakistan’s maritime defence.
