Pakistan and Egypt have successfully concluded the two-week-long Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise Thunder-II at the Special Operations School in Cherat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise focused on enhancing interoperability between the two forces by refining drills, procedures, and techniques for counterterrorism operations.

Combat teams from the Pakistan Army’s elite Special Services Group (SSG) and the Egyptian Special Forces actively participated, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and operational skill throughout the training.
The closing ceremony was attended by General Officer Commanding SSG and Commander of Egyptian Paratroopers, Major General Mohamed Saad Abdel Razik, along with the Egyptian Defence Attaché.
The ISPR stated that the exercise not only sharpened tactical capabilities but also further strengthened the longstanding and historic military-to-military relations between the two friendly nations.
This successful completion of Thunder-II reflects the deepening defence cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt. In October last year, Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir had reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhanced military ties with Egypt during meetings with Egyptian defence officials.
