Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Pakistan Army, today held a pivotal interaction with the participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at General Headquarters (GHQ). The conversation centered on unleashing the immense economic potential and ensuring the comprehensive socio-economic uplift Balochistan deserves.

The COAS warmly remarked that Balochistan is truly the pride of Pakistan. He highlighted its greatest asset is its highly vibrant, resilient, and patriotic people, emphasizing that they are the province’s true wealth.

A New Era of Balochistan Development

Field Marshal Munir underscored the profound commitment of both the Federal and Provincial governments to transformative Balochistan development. He focused on key initiatives currently underway, all designed with a people-centric approach.

“The immense economic potential of Balochistan must be realized for the benefit of every citizen,” the COAS stated, driving home the Army’s support for infrastructure projects, job creation, and sustainable growth that directly improve local livelihoods.

Empowering Youth and Civil Society

Acknowledging the critical role of non-governmental organizations and community leaders, the COAS highlighted the pivotal role of civil society in shaping the province’s future. He specifically praised their efforts in engaging and empowering the youth.

He stressed that genuine, sustainable progress requires collective effort, urging civil society to stand firm against external forces that promote anti-development and vested political agendas. This collaborative spirit, he noted, is essential for ensuring long-term prosperity.

Unwavering Commitment to Counter-Terrorism Pakistan

Addressing the persistent security challenges, the COAS reaffirmed the state’s absolute resolve against terrorism. He explicitly named Indian-sponsored proxies, referencing Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij, as propagating malice with the malicious intent to perpetrate violence and derail progress.

The Pakistan Army leadership is taking all necessary, decisive actions to pursue these terrorist elements and completely rid the province of this menace.

The COAS also issued a clear and stern warning: “While Pakistan seeks regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity—be it direct or indirect—will be met with a firm and decisive response.” This commitment ensures the safeguarding of the lives and well-being of all Pakistani citizens.

The engaging session concluded with a frank and constructive interactive Q&A, reinforcing the spirit of partnership between the military and civilian leadership in driving the success story of Balochistan.
