China, an all-weather strategic cooperative partner of Pakistan, delivered a substantial consignment of emergency relief supplies for flood-affected communities, with two cargo flights landing at Nur Khan Air Base in Islamabad in the early hours of Sunday.
The swift humanitarian assistance, organized to support the ongoing flood relief operations across Pakistan, included 300 tents and 9,000 thermal blankets. These essential items are crucial for providing immediate shelter and warmth to displaced families grappling with the harsh conditions following the recent devastating floods.
The aid consignment was officially received at the air base by high-ranking officials from the Government of Pakistan. Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam, alongside the Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), formally accepted the supplies and extended a warm welcome to the Chinese aircraft crew. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, underscoring the diplomatic significance of the timely intervention.
During the reception, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam highlighted the deep historical bond between the two nations.
“China’s timely assistance is a true reflection of the eternal and unbreakable Pak-China friendship,” stated Federal Minister Amir Muqam. “China has never left Pakistan alone in its difficult times, and this swift humanitarian response is another strong testament to our brotherly ties.”
The Federal Minister further reiterated the government’s commitment to the affected population. He confirmed that, as per the directives of the Prime Minister, all government institutions and the NDMA remain actively engaged in coordinated efforts to provide maximum relief and support to all flood victims across the country.
The arrival of the supplies is expected to significantly boost the efforts of the NDMA and provincial authorities in establishing relief camps and providing basic necessities to thousands of vulnerable individuals.
