DG ISPR: Pakistan Seeks Balanced Global Ties, Exposes Indian Terror Links

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining balanced relations with global powers, making it clear that Islamabad does not follow an “either-or” policy.

In an interview with a German media outlet, the military spokesperson said Pakistan views its partnership with the United States as longstanding and vital. He acknowledged that Army Chief General Asim Munir’s recent visit to Washington had helped in strengthening cooperation, particularly in counterterrorism. “There is a lot of scope for Pakistan-US engagement,” he added, while also clarifying that Pakistan maintains equally constructive and strategic ties with China and other countries.

The DG ISPR also appreciated the US role in mediating the May 2025 ceasefire between India and Pakistan after a four-day escalation. However, he strongly criticized India’s institutions, including its Army, for being driven by extremist Hindutva ideology. He stressed that the Kashmir dispute, Indian state-sponsored terrorism, and rising extremism continue to fuel instability in South Asia. “Strategic arrogance and irrationality will not work,” he warned, urging greater international mediation.

On internal security, Lt Gen Chaudhry rejected the narrative of “insurgency” in Pakistan, stating: “It is pure terrorism, backed by India.” He recalled that Pakistan has already presented six dossiers (2009–2023) to the international community with evidence of Indian involvement.

Highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices, he revealed that security forces carried out nearly 47,900 intelligence-based operations in 2025, eliminating over 1,000 terrorists. These operations came at the cost of 762 martyrs, including almost 300 civilians.

He underlined that such sustained terrorism cannot exist without external support, vowing that Pakistan will continue to confront the threat head-on while strengthening its strategic partnerships abroad.
