In a successful humanitarian mission at high seas, Pakistan Navy Ships TABUK and MOAWIN executed a critical Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) of a Sri Lankan national from the Indonesian-flagged merchant vessel, MV GREY PALM.

The operation was initiated following an urgent request received from the Sri Lankan Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) regarding a medical emergency on the merchant vessel, which was positioned approximately 800 nautical miles off Gwadar.

Key Details of the Operation

  • Rapid Deployment: Despite the significant distance from the coast, Pakistan Navy units, including the corvette PNS TABUK and the fleet tanker PNS MOAWIN, coordinated to reach the vessel’s location swiftly.
  • Medical Intervention: The patient, a Sri Lankan sailor, was safely evacuated from MV GREY PALM and transferred to the medical facility onboard PNS MOAWIN.
  • Immediate Care: Specialized naval medical teams provided life-saving treatment and stabilization to the patient immediately upon arrival.
