On the night of 15 January 2026, Security Forces successfully neutralized a major terror plot in Kharan City, District Kharan, eliminating twelve (12) foreign-sponsored terrorists during a high-intensity clearance operation.
Approximately fifteen to twenty terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored group “Fitna Al Hindustan” launched coordinated attacks across Kharan City. The targets included the City Police Station, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), and Habib Bank Limited (HBL). During the assault on the financial institutions, the terrorists looted Rs 3.4 Million.

Operational Highlights
- Decisive Response: Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) responded with immediate precision, engaging the terrorists in heavy fire exchanges and forcing them to retreat from the urban center.
- Terrorists Neutralized: In the ensuing clearance and pursuit operations, twelve terrorists were sent to hell across three different engagement sites.
- Hostage Situation Thwarted: A primary design of the terrorists to seize the City Police Station and create a high-profile hostage situation was effectively thwarted by the professional and timely intervention of the forces.
Ongoing Action
A sanitization operation is currently underway in the surrounding areas to hunt down the remaining fleeing terrorists and eliminate any remnants of this foreign-sponsored network.
