Pakistan-Indonesia Joint Military Exercise Shaheen Strike-II Concludes Successfully

The two-week Pakistan-Indonesia Joint Military Exercise Shaheen Strike-II, focused on Counter Terrorism operations, concluded on 18 November 2025 at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Combat teams from the Pakistan Army and the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD) participated in the exercise held from 8–19 November, successfully achieving all training objectives.

The closing ceremony was graced by a senior General Officer from Pakistan as Chief Guest, alongside high-ranking Indonesian military officials.

During the exercise, troops from both nations honed advanced drills, procedures, and techniques in Counter Terrorism operations, with special emphasis on:

  • Fighting in built-up areas
  • Counter-IED operations
  • Room intervention and close-quarter battle
  • Hostage rescue and cordon-and-search tactics

Participants demonstrated exceptional professionalism, tactical proficiency, and interoperability, reflecting the deep trust and camaraderie between the two armed forces.

Shaheen Strike-II marks a significant milestone in the longstanding military-to-military cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia, further strengthening defence ties and mutual capacity to combat terrorism.

The exercise follows a series of successful joint training initiatives under the “Shaheen” banner, including air force exercises, and underscores both nations’ shared commitment to regional peace and security.

Pakistan and Indonesia enjoy warm fraternal relations, with regular high-level exchanges and cooperation across defence, trade, and cultural domains.
