Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) & Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CDF), currently on an official visit to Libya, held high-level meetings with the top leadership of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces.
Upon his arrival at the military headquarters, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was received with a formal Guard of Honour presented by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Libyan Armed Forces.

The COAS called on Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief.
During the meetings, the following key areas were addressed:
- Bilateral Relations: Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest and the historical ties between the two nations.
- Regional Security: Both sides exchanged views on the prevailing regional security dynamics and the importance of stability in the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern regions.
- Military Cooperation: Strategic avenues for enhancing military-to-military cooperation were identified, with a specific emphasis on training, capacity building, and professional exchange programs.
- Counter-Terrorism: Both leaders underscored the necessity of robust collaboration in counter-terrorism domains to ensure regional peace.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening defense ties with Libya based on shared strategic interests and mutual respect.

In response, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar lauded the high standards of professionalism and the operational readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The visit marks a significant step in deepening the defense diplomacy and strategic outreach between Pakistan and Libya.
