In South Waziristan, Khawarij terrorists used children as human shields to avoid being targeted by security forces, according to security sources.
Based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of Khawarij, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in the area.
As troops closed in, the terrorists deliberately gathered children around themselves, fully aware that the security forces would not open fire in the presence of minors.
Security sources revealed that the Khawarij, with the help of local facilitators, routinely keep women and children close to them. This tactic is designed to manipulate any potential civilian casualties after the operation and use such incidents for political propaganda against the armed forces.
The terrorists also exploit populated areas and mosques as shields to deter security operations.
In such circumstances, it is essential for the local population to share accurate information with the security forces to avoid collateral damage.
As of the latest reports, the area has been cordoned off by the military, and the terrorists will soon be dealt with accordingly.
