In his address, General Mirza expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for the strength to serve with dedication, professionalism, and selfless devotion. He paid tribute to the armed forces and martyrs for their sacrifices and highlighted the importance of a strong national defence in the current geo-strategic environment. He reaffirmed that the nation’s defence remains impregnable, with officers and soldiers ever ready to strengthen it further.
The ceremony comes following the recent 27th Constitutional Amendment, which restructured the national security establishment and formally abolished the office of CJCSC. Established to maintain joint-service coordination, the dissolution of this office marks the end of nearly five decades of tri-service representation in armed forces decision-making.
The ISPR said the farewell reflects both the legacy of service of General Mirza and the continued commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to national security and stability.
