Cadet College Wana Reopens Following Restoration Efforts by Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps

by | Feb 26, 2026

In a resounding victory for peace and education, academic activities have officially resumed at Cadet College Wana (CCW). The reopening follows a rapid and comprehensive restoration campaign led by the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps (FC) KP South, ensuring that the youth of the tribal districts continue their journey toward excellence without fear.

A Swift Return to Normality

Following the successful defense and subsequent rehabilitation of the campus, the halls of Cadet College Wana are once again filled with students.

  • Military-Civil Synergy: The Pakistan Army Engineers and FC KP South worked around the clock to repair infrastructure damaged during recent hostilities, ensuring that classrooms, laboratories, and hostels meet the highest safety and operational standards.

  • Community Gratitude: Local tribal elders and parents have expressed profound gratitude to the security forces, noting that the resumption of classes is a testament to the “unbreakable bond” between the people of South Waziristan and the Armed Forces.

  • Uninterrupted Vision: The administration confirmed that the academic calendar has been adjusted to ensure no loss of learning for the cadets, with faculty members returning to their duties with renewed morale.

Background: The November 10 Terrorist Attack

The resumption of activities is particularly significant given the harrowing events of November 10, 2025. On that evening, a group of “Khwarij” militants, identified by the ISPR as Indian-sponsored proxies operating from Afghan soil, launched a sophisticated suicide assault on the institution.

  • The Siege: Terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate to breach the perimeter, subsequently occupying the administrative block.

  • Heroic Rescue: In an operation reminiscent of the resolve shown after the 2014 APS attack, security forces successfully evacuated and rescued over 600 individuals, including 525 cadets and faculty members, without a single casualty among the students or staff.

  • Elimination of Threat: All five attackers, including the suicide bomber, were neutralized by the Pakistan Army during a high-precision clearance operation that concluded on November 11.

Upholding “Azm-e-Istehkam”

The reopening of Cadet College Wana serves as a powerful message to the perpetrators of “Fitna al-Khwarij.” The military leadership reiterated that educational institutions remain a “red line” and that the mission to provide quality education at the doorstep of the tribal youth will not be deterred by cowardly acts of violence.

The security of the college has been significantly bolstered with advanced surveillance and a dedicated FC security detail to ensure a peaceful environment for the “future leaders of Pakistan.”
