China has reportedly sped up delivery of its advanced J-35 stealth fighter jets to Pakistan, moving the timeline from late 2026 to mid-2026.
If confirmed, Pakistan would become the first country outside China to operate the fifth-generation J-35, which is a big deal for the balance of power in South Asia.

The package reportedly doesn’t stop at just the fighter jets. It includes integration with China’s KJ-500 airborne early warning aircraft and HQ-19 missile defence systems. This combination would give Pakistan better detection, stealth capability, longer range, and stronger overall combat power.
The J-35 features internal weapons bays, low-observable design, and twin engines — capabilities that currently outmatch India’s fleet of Rafale and Su-30MKI jets, which are all fourth-generation aircraft. India’s own fifth-generation fighter project is still several years away.
Analysts say this accelerated delivery could force India to rethink its air defence strategy, base deployments, and future procurements. For China, it marks a major milestone — its first serious export of a fifth-generation stealth fighter, showing growing confidence in its aerospace industry.
While exact numbers and full configuration details are still not public, the news has already started shifting strategic calculations in Islamabad, New Delhi, and Beijing.
