Rawalpindi – November 26, 2025 – In a significant step towards stronger bilateral defence cooperation, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Mr Ali Ardeshir Larijani, held high-level talks with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at GHQ on Wednesday, the ISPR said.
The meeting focused on shared security challenges, counter-terrorism collaboration, and ways to enhance strategic partnership between the two neighbouring countries.
Field Marshal Munir “reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, emphasizing the need for closer collaboration with Iran to combat terrorism” while highlighting “the growing importance of strategic cooperation in light of the evolving geopolitical situation”.

Mr Larijani praised Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional security and expressed Iran’s firm resolve to deepen ties. He “underlined the significance of dialogue and partnership between the two nations to tackle regional challenges and ensure long-term stability”.

Both sides agreed that enhanced Pakistan-Iran coordination remains critical for countering terrorism and promoting lasting peace in the region.
