The successful firing is a significant step in Pakistan’s efforts to maintain a “credible sea-based deterrence” and bolster its Anti-Access/Area-Denial (A2/AD) capabilities. By developing these systems indigenously, the Pakistan Navy continues to reduce reliance on foreign technology while enhancing its conventional strike depth.
Leadership commendations
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir (COAS/CDF) have extended their congratulations to the scientific and naval teams involved. This latest milestone follows a successful test of the same system in November last year, signaling a rapid progression in the domestic production of advanced naval weaponry during a period of heightened regional diplomatic and security focus.
