Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, Chief of General Staff (CGS) Pakistan Army, paid an official visit to Riyadh where he called on General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al-Rowaily, Chief of General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces. The meeting underscored the enduring Pakistan-Saudi Arabia military cooperation and strategic partnership.
Key discussions focused on bilateral defence cooperation, strategic mutual defence agreement (SMDA), enhancing military interoperability, and advancing joint initiatives in defence technology and emerging military capabilities. Both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to deepening Pakistan-KSA defence ties, fostering regional peace and stability, and promoting defence self-reliance.
In a parallel development, a Special Meeting of the Pakistan-KSA Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum was convened in Riyadh. The Pakistani tri-services delegation was led by Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, while the Saudi side was represented by H.E. Mr Khalid Al Biyari, Assistant Minister of Defence for Executive Affairs.
The forum reviewed progress on ongoing defence collaboration projects and explored new opportunities for joint ventures in defence technology, particularly in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. Emphasis was placed on co-development in emerging defence technologies, military modernization, and defence industrial collaboration.
Lieutenant General Raza reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the capacity building of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces, including training, technical assistance, and operational expertise. The Saudi leadership expressed profound appreciation for Pakistan’s sacrifices in counter-terrorism, its pivotal role in regional security, and its contributions to Middle East stability.
This high-level engagement reinforces the historic fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, setting a robust framework for future strategic defence partnerships and military-to-military cooperation.
