The Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul today concluded its prestigious Joint Passing Out Parade (POP) for the 152nd PMA Long Course, alongside the 71st Integrated Course, 26th Lady Cadet Course, and 37th Technical Graduate Course. The parade, graced by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), saw the successful commissioning of officers, including those from several friendly countries.
This year’s graduating class expressed their deep commitment to national service, reflecting on the rigorous training that shaped their character and instilled an unwavering sense of duty.
Voices of the New Officers
Speaking after being awarded the coveted Sword of Honour, Academy Senior Under Officer Ahmed Mujtaba Arif Raja articulated his motivation: “I joined the Pakistan Military Academy to express my deep love and attachment to the nation. I will always strive to meet the nation’s expectations with enthusiasm, dedication, and determination.”
Battalion Senior Under Officer Zohair Hussain, recipient of the President’s Gold Medal, noted the profound transformation: “PMA has not only refined my personality but also instilled a profound sense of service, loyalty, and bravery towards the nation.” Gentleman Cadet Syed Hashir Hassan echoed this sentiment, stating: “PMA has instilled the spirit in me to defend Pakistan with courage and integrity.”
For those who trained for specialised roles, the impact was equally significant. Course Under Officer Shaheer Ali (37th Technical Graduate Course) reflected: “The time spent at Pakistan Military Academy was an excellent journey. PMA has prepared us to serve with honour and dignity in a challenging world.”
Role Models and Family Legacy
The Lady Cadets also spoke of their pride and aspirations. Course Under Officer Hadia Fayyaz, who received the Commandant’s Cane as the overall best Lady Cadet, affirmed her goal: “I want to become a role model for young women who dream of serving the nation.”
The ceremony was also a tribute to family legacies of sacrifice. Gentleman Cadet Ahmed shared a powerful commitment, noting his father and elder brother had sacrificed their lives for the nation’s survival: “I will not hesitate to offer my life for the protection of the country, in accordance with my family’s tradition.” Similarly, Company Junior Under Officer Ahmed Nauman revealed his childhood inspiration: “The passion to join the Pakistan Army arose from seeing my father in this uniform since childhood.”
Emphasising the weight of their new responsibility, Sergeant Asim Manzoor stated: “This uniform is not just clothing, but a responsibility, honour, and a sacred trust of the martyrs.”
Bonds with Allied Nations
The parade also highlighted the strong bonds with allied nations. Friendly Country Company Junior Under Officer Tekraj Rawat of Nepal, recipient of the Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Overseas Gold Medal, expressed his honour: “It is a great honour for me to represent my country, Nepal, in Pakistan. This journey was filled with discipline, friendship, and unforgettable memories. I will deeply miss the heartwarming journey of PMA.”
Similarly, Course Sports Sergeant Most Jannatul Mawa of Bangladesh, named the best Friendly Country Lady Cadet, highlighted the camaraderie: “The journey through training at this esteemed institution was one of growth, discipline, and friendship. Shared challenges, successes, and experiences during rigorous training have established a bond of lasting friendship.”
The successful commissioning of this batch of officers reinforces PMA Kakul’s role in setting a high example of discipline, determination, and character for future leaders.
