The exercise zeroed in on high-stakes hostage rescue operations, urban combat simulations, and precision strikes in terrorist scenarios. Troops from Pakistan’s battle-hardened SSG and the UAE’s Presidential Guards – the elite protectors of the UAE leadership – dove into hands-on training, swapping tactics on explosive handling, close-quarter battles, and rapid extraction maneuvers. “This isn’t just about drills; it’s about building unbreakable trust on the battlefield,” an ISPR official noted, highlighting how the sessions boosted interoperability and shared intel on evolving threats.
The closing ceremony was a star-studded affair, with the General Officer Commanding SSG as the chief guest, flanked by top UAE brass and diplomats. It underscored the deepening defense ties between Islamabad and Abu Dhabi, forged through years of counter-terror collaborations and economic partnerships. As Pakistan grapples with a fresh wave of attacks – like the recent Islamabad court blast – such exercises feel more urgent than ever, signaling a united front against extremism.
Named after a nod to the UAE’s rugged terrains, Jalmood-I (meaning “harsh” in Arabic) marks a milestone in Pak-UAE relations, with both sides vowing more joint ops ahead. In a world where terror doesn’t respect borders, this drill proves friendship – and firepower – does.
