In recognition of their extraordinary gallantry and distinguished services, President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred military awards upon the officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force. The awards, announced on the occasion of Pakistan Day, honor 1,989 personnel from the Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces for their unwavering commitment to national security. The conferment follows the recommendation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, under Article 259(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Gallantry and Combat Honors
The President granted several prestigious awards for acts of individual bravery and operational excellence, particularly reflecting successes in recent counter-terrorism efforts.

Sitara-i-Basalat: Awarded to 11 officers and men, including posthumous honors for Major Sibtain Haider (Shaheed), Major Hamza Israr (Shaheed), and Major Adnan Aslam (Shaheed).

Tamgha-i-Basalat: Conferred upon 475 personnel for their courageous performance in the field.

Imtiazi Asnad: Granted to 130 officers and men for their exceptional conduct during operations.
Merit and Distinguished Service Awards
Recognizing long-standing professional excellence and meritorious contributions to the Tri-Services:

Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military): Awarded to 23 senior officers.

Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military): Granted to 100 officers and men.

Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military): Conferred upon 136 personnel.

Service Medals: Approval was also granted for Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) across three classes, including Class-I (175), Class-II (319), and Class-III (620).
Army Chief’s Commendations
Further highlighting the morale and dedication within the ranks, 378 officers and men were honored with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Commendation Cards for their outstanding performance in various professional domains.
A Legacy of Sacrifice
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the recipients include personnel who displayed “conspicuous gallantry” during Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq and other defensive maneuvers. The ceremony symbolizes the state’s enduring gratitude toward those who serve as the vanguard of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
